Stand
Daniel 6:4, 10, 27
“They could find no corruption in him because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent…Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to God, just as he had done before…he has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions…”
Daniel’s calling was to stand firm as a servant of the living God and give Him glory through a life of faith, worship and integrity. Daniel didn’t need to confront the strongholds of evil; they confronted him as he lived in the power of the Spirit. As God’s servants we too are called to stand firm and having done all to stand, we are to stand therefore. The enemy of our souls wants to discourage us, harm us and discredit our testimony, but living in humility and worship provides a place to stand that no weapon of the enemy can penetrate. The lion’s den was no match for the Presence of God. Daniel’s daily worship and thankful heart were stronger than the schemes of the enemy. Our call is to stand and give glory to God through our lives and worship.
Lord Jesus, fill me with your Spirit’s power this day to stand firm in worship, in faith and in hope for your glory.
