John 20:21-23
“ ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’ And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone‘s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.’ ”
The ministry of Jesus is now continued through his followers. We experience Christ’s peace as His Spirit fills our lives and we live as witnesses of His life inside of us. No longer are sins forgiven through the blood of animals and the rituals of sacrifice at the temple, but forgiveness is now freely received and extended to others through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Has Jesus breathed on you?
