Heaven’s Wisdom
James 3:17-18
“The wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere. Peacemakers, who sow in peace, raise a harvest of righteousness.”
God’s wisdom begins in character and not in intellect. It is marked by purity and the love of peace in relationships. God’s wisdom values relationships, values authority and values mercy. Our words either sow peace or division. Those who walk in God’s wisdom sow peace and call others to a right relationship with God. Peace with others and with God marks the relationships of those who walk with God’s wisdom in life. Relationships matter to God. We cannot ignore relationships and call ourselves wise. Wisdom is the sum total of many decisions to love God, love others, and to live in God’s ways with humility and respect.
Lord Jesus, you lived with heaven’s wisdom. I desire to be like you. Fill me with your life and Spirit again today and live your life through me.
