Psalm 86:4
“Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.”
As servants of the Lord, we often run dry. Our strength runs dry, our joy runs dry and our love runs dry. We must go back to our Lord and request resources that we don’t possess - resources that strengthen our spirit, soul and body. If the joy of the Lord is our strength, then being in his presence, enjoying his favor and living for his pleasure, should renew both our joy and our strength. When we lift our souls to other offers of renewal and life, we are left empty. Living on mission with Jesus can also leave our souls weary; invite Jesus today to renew his joy in us, for his glory.
To you, O Lord, we lift up our souls. Renew us in your joy; you are our life and strength.
