Acts - Chapter OneEgzanp

Christ’s Promise of Power
…you will receive power Acts 1:8
The first ‘you will’ in verse 8, says ‘you will receive power.’ The power is dynamic, miraculous power. The root word in Greek is doonamis – from which we get the word dynamite- Explosive Power. God has given us that power, the question is whether we realize and act on that power. God’s power is SUPER ABUNDANT.
God is able to do exceedingly greater than we can ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us. Eph 3 :20
The power was through God’s Holy Spirit ‘when the holy spirit comes on you’. The way people have experienced His Spirit today, has caused much division, within the body of Christ. Without getting into unnecessary controversy, it is important to however, grasp the truth that the source of power is the Holy Spirit. Power does not stem from within us, but from above. ‘…when the holy spirit comes on you.’
We not only have the assurance of the Holy Spirit on us, but we also have Christ with us. “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt. 28:20b
What more do we need, when we have Christ’s reassurance of His presence along with His Holy Spirit upon us? When God is all we have; God is all we need!
