The One: Born

Jesus was born for us all. No matter your race or background, your paycheck or parenting skills. He was born because we need a savior. 

He came to take all our sin, our shame, our hurts, our brokenness and in place of that, leave His joy, His peace, His love. He knew we wouldn’t be able to handle this world on our own, so He gave up heaven to come down to earth to give us everything we needed.

He didn’t have to do it. He didn’t have to be born to humans, have a humble beginning, know what was coming and face the cross anyway, but He did. His love for us so far exceeds anything we can understand. Today is the day that we can gratefully accept the most precious gift we will ever receive: the gift of a Savior.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for choosing us. Even though we don’t deserve your gift, thank you for offering it to us humbly and majestically all at the same time. In this broken, fallen world, the gift of your love and sacrifice is all we need. In your holy name, amen.
