Trust Through The TrialsEgzanp

If we’re all being honest, trials are no fun. They seem pointless, they seem depressing, and they seem to invite anxiety in directly through our front door. They even make us question things that we’ve believed for a very long time. Is God good? Does God still love me? Does God truly have a specific plan for me? I think the first thing we should address is this: yes, God is still good. Yes, God does love you. And yes, God does have a specific plan for you. See, here’s the thing, God’s faithfulness doesn’t change, it’s just a matter of how we respond. Too many times we will accuse God of not being faithful, when the real issue is that we respond out of emotion instead of commitment. Is your relationship with God a commitment, or an emotional high? Are you as committed to following God, no matter what happens in your journey, as Christ was committed to dying for you? Or do you just enjoy the emotion that comes from your favorite worship song? Is your response to the trials you face going to be a response that stems from emotion – or from commitment? 

Challenge Today: Commit to God. Make the decision right now that you are committing your life to Christ regardless of what situations may come your way. Through every mountain and every valley, make the decision that your commitment to God will NOT be dictated by your circumstances. God never promises that we will live a trial-free life, but He does promise to be with us and never forsake us, even through the trials. 

 In 2 Timothy 4:7, Paul says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” In other words, Paul was committed.

Prayer Today: God, thank you for never forsaking me. I commit to You. I commit to the plans You have for my life and the path that must be taken to see those plans come to pass. I know it won’t always be easy, but I know it will be worth it. Regardless of the trial, regardless of the season, I commit to faithfully following You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
