Grow UpEgzanp

No one likes being treated like a baby. Often, babies don’t like being treated like babies. I remember how keen my daughters were to get on to solid foods after living for the first six months on milk. But when they were in their infancy, they weren’t ready for more.
Paul is talking about recognising where you are at, what you need - BUT he’s not advocating staying on milk.
Also, note: these verses also show a Christian leader having to treat people differently, depending upon the maturity of their faith.
QUESTION: Should you ask God – or a trusted friend – to assist you in discerning whether you actually are an infant in Christ?

A lot of emphasis is placed upon making the leap from childhood into adulthood. At some point, it’s going to seem weird or juvenile if we haven’t “grown up”. The Christian faith shares this element of maturing and developing. A steady yet sometimes overlooked part of our Christian faith is “growing up” – and it’s not just a solo pursuit. Christians are called to help each other in maturity.
