Ministry as Stewardship
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 4:2
Ministry is not ownership; it is stewardship. A steward manages what belongs to another. In the same way, every believer has been entrusted with a divine assignment that belongs to God and must be handled according to His instruction.
This matters because it shifts the mindset from entitlement to responsibility. Ministry is not for self-expression or personal gain but for faithful service. God evaluates not just activity, but faithfulness in what has been entrusted.
When ministry is treated as ownership, pride and misuse follow. People begin to use their assignment for personal advantage rather than divine purpose. This leads to distortion and spiritual imbalance.
