RHODA as a Guiding Star

DAY 4 OF 7

Dedicated: Serving Faithfully in All Things

Key Texts:
Acts 12:13-16 (Rhoda's dedication to her role)
Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."
2 Kings 4:8-37 (The Shunammite woman's servant)

Discussion:

• Rhoda demonstrated dedication through her faithfulness in a seemingly simple task. She didn't hesitate to do what she was assigned, even though others may not have fully understood what was happening.

• The Shunammite woman’s servant is another example of someone dedicated to their role, contributing quietly to a miraculous story by being attentive and serving in her role faithfully.

Discussion Questions:

1. What motivates you to be dedicated to the tasks given to you, even the small or seemingly insignificant ones?

2. Rhoda and the servant in 2 Kings served in roles that could be seen as ''in visible.'' How does serving in the background contribute to the larger picture in God's plan?

3. How can you commit to serving with dedication and excellence, even in situations where no one is watching?

Application: Reflect on how you can demonstrate greater dedication to your responsibilities, whether at work, at home, or in ministry. Commit to working as though you are serving the Lord.

Other Servant:

The Slave Girl Who Advised her Master (2 Kings 4:8-37)

Role: Shunammite woman's servant girl
Key Verse: "She went in and fell at his feet, bowing to the ground. Then she picked up her son and went out.'' (2 Kings 4:37)

Significance:
This servant played a key role in the story of the Shunammite woman who had no children. The servant observed the kindness of the prophet Elisha, and when the Shunammite woman had no child, it was this servant who helped recognize Elisha's role in their life. After Elisha promised her a son and later revived the son when he died, this servant girl's presence is noted in the background. Her role, though secondary, is crucial as she helps facilitate the miracle through her service.

Application in the Workplace: Even those who work in the background-like this servant-can be part of God's great works. Every role, big or small, matters when done with dedication and faith.
