Learning You: The Love That Stays

DAY 4 OF 7

One of the most powerful moments in Learning You is Ty’s dream of being caught in a violent storm with Elijah. The waves crash, thunder roars, and Elijah pleads to turn back—but Ty keeps rowing, insisting, “It’s just a dream. Nothing can hurt you here.” Yet the fear still feels real.

That scene captures what life often feels like when everything seems out of control. You’re doing all you can—paddling, praying, holding on—and still it feels like you’re sinking. But storms don’t mean God has left. In fact, they often mean He’s closer than ever.

Remember the disciples in their boat? The wind howled and the waves rose, but Jesus was right there with them—resting peacefully in what terrified them. Sometimes God doesn’t calm the storm immediately because He’s calming you first. He’s teaching you that His presence is stronger than your panic.

God isn’t pacing heaven wondering how this ends. He’s steady. He’s sure. And He’s sitting right beside you in the boat. You may not be able to silence the wind, but you can rest in the One who already has authority over it.

Reflect:
What storm are you facing that you’ve been trying to fight alone?

Prayer:
Lord, help me see You in the middle of my chaos.
Even when I can’t control the outcome, remind me that You are my refuge and strength—my peace in the waves.
Amen.
