Learning You: The Love That Stays

DAY 3 OF 7

In Learning You, one of the most tender moments is when Ty begins to understand Elijah’s world. At first, every meltdown feels like rejection, every silence like distance. But as time passes, Ty realizes Elijah isn’t pushing him away—he’s simply processing differently.

That’s what love does: it learns. Real love doesn’t rush to fix or to judge; it slows down to understand. It leans in. It listens. It studies the person in front of it.

Think about how patient Jesus was with His disciples. They misunderstood His teaching, argued about who was greatest, and fell asleep when He asked them to pray. Yet He didn’t give up on them. He kept walking beside them, gently shaping their hearts one conversation at a time.

Love like that takes time. The kingdom of God moves at the pace of relationship, not efficiency. You can’t microwave trust—it’s cultivated through patience and presence.

Maybe you’re frustrated because someone in your life just doesn’t “get it” yet. Don’t give up. Keep showing up. Keep learning them. Because when you choose to love patiently, you mirror the heart of a God who’s been learning and loving you all along.

Reflect:
Who is God asking you to slow down and truly learn instead of trying to fix?

Prayer:
Father, thank You for being endlessly patient with me.
Teach me to love like You do—to listen more than I speak, to study before I judge, and to show grace that doesn’t rush.
Amen.
