Love Letters to Godનમૂનો

Father, You are my delight! I long to be in your presence and in your peace! Thank you for your love towards me. My desire is to be who and what you would have me to be. I don’t want to be so busy that I get sucked in a rhythm of mindlessly doing “things,” and miss out on loving you!

You are the source of my strength--the lamp and light unto my feet. I depend on you to lead and guide me. What a waste if I am a “things” person and not a God person. I don’t want to be like Martha, incumbent about many things, but not at your feet when you are near. Draw me close and your presence will be my delight! Your word will be my comfort and your Holy Ghost my guide.

Jesus, I long for you. May the longing for you always be first and foremost in my heart. My heart screams YES to your will and your way! Your presence is my delight, and I desire to make you smile and want you to be proud of me. I give you permission to shape my life, so it may bring glory to your name.

Meditative Moment: Have you ever felt like you needed to stop every carnal thing in your life and run to the bosom of Jesus? We must continually pray to be in the right relationship with the Father. Not a surface relationship, but a deeper level that He can engage with us and be pleased with our lives. Today, take an assessment of the things that keep you busy and distracted from spending quality time in God’s presence. Then decide three things you will do to improve your quality time with God.

Prayer: Father God, in the name of Jesus, we want to know you in a more intimate way. We recognize the importance of a relationship with you so open our hearts to receive more of you. It doesn’t matter if we “say” we know you, if you never knew us. Father, we want you to know our names. Commune with us and change us for the better. Our desire is to be in the center of your will--right where you want us to be. In Jesus’ mighty and sweet name we pray, Amen.
