Spending time with the Lord will naturally lead to more conversations with Him. This is the best part about prayer–with it, we have a lifeline to the Creator of the Universe!

Maybe you're new to prayer. There's no time like the present to begin sprucing up your prayer life. You don't have to use fancy five-dollar words to impress him. You don't have to know the exact right phrases. You don't even have to close your eyes or be in a church to pray. You just have to start the conversation.

Perhaps you're a seasoned prayer warrior, but your prayers feel stale at the moment. Or maybe something has happened that has kept you from praying. Right now is the perfect moment to spice up your prayer life and reconnect with the Lord.

Sometimes, the best place to start is by praying for others. Who in your life is struggling? Who needs healing or help or encouragement today? Pray for them! James 5:16 says Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

Your prayers are powerful!

I love keeping a journal of my prayers. Our memories are pretty short, and sometimes we don't realize we are walking in answered prayers because we didn't write them down. Our prayer journals become a timeline of all the prayers we've prayed and the miraculous ways God has answered those prayers. We need those reminders, especially when things get tough.

I hope that if you don't already, you will consider keeping a prayer journal.

When you are happy, pray. When you're worried, pray. When life takes a sudden turn and you don't know what to do, pray. Pray constantly, about everything. The more you pray, the more you begin to hear what the Father is saying to you.

Prayer is a conversation. Talk sometimes, then take a break and listen. Let the Lord speak to your heart what He has for you. There are libraries of wisdom in that Secret Place with God. For today, make sure those volumes aren't gathering dust from disuse.

Prayer: God, you say my prayers are powerful. I want to see people healed, relationships restored, and hearts mended because I prayed in Jesus' name. Show me how to pray these prayers, and help me develop a listening ear to hear whatever you have to say. I want to be so excited to talk with you every day that I can't wait to share all the things on my heart. Thank you for giving us the gift of prayer so I can speak directly to you and receive your wisdom in return. I am so grateful for prayer! In Jesus' name, amen.
