Step Into Dark Places With Authority

God has always placed His people in environments filled with compromise and challenge: Babylon for Daniel, Egypt for Joseph, Persia for Esther. None of these leaders chose comfort; they chose conviction. They refused to retreat, and because of it, entire nations witnessed the glory of God.

I’ve lived this in my own career. Early in my corporate journey, I intentionally avoided promotions and opportunities to be elevated because of the culture I saw at the top. The environment was toxic, and cutthroat competition, dishonesty, and pride seemed to rule. I didn’t want any part of it. But the Lord began to challenge me: What if I didn’t run from the culture, but entered it with a different spirit?

So instead of climbing the ladder the way others did, I chose to be unapologetically honest, considerate, and generous. I decided that my leadership would look different because it would reflect Christ. And something incredible happened – God used it. Influence came not because I schemed for it, but because integrity shines brighter than compromise. What I avoided out of fear, God transformed into a platform for His glory when I trusted Him.

Today, you may be positioned in industries full of greed, pride, or fear. The temptation is to play it safe or even withdraw. But Jesus never asked His people to avoid the darkness; He called them to step into it with the authority of heaven.

Light shines brightest in darkness. Every courageous decision you make, every act of integrity, and every prayer whispered in faith pushes back shadows and makes room for His kingdom.

Name one area in your industry or workplace that feels dark or compromised. This week, pray specifically over that space and ask God to use you as a fearless light there.
