Surrender sounds like weakness to the world, but in the Kingdom of God, surrender is where strength begins. Oftentimes, surrender is hard because it’s scary! We’ve all put our trust in people who have let us down! That teaches us to build walls and not to trust people. The good thing is Jesus will never let us down!

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). That rest isn’t found in trying harder—it’s found in letting go. The more we understand that our hope is anchored in Christ (Hebrews 6:19), the easier it becomes to stop clinging to everything else. His joy becomes our strength (Nehemiah 8:10), even when life feels uncertain.

The truth is: we were never meant to carry it all. In our new song "Easy Surrender," we speak on how surrender becomes easy when we remember how faithful God has been! And when we trust Him enough to surrender, He fills the space we once held tight with something better: Himself. So surrender to Him right now! He won’t let you down!

Prayer:

Lord, teach me the freedom of surrender. Help me release what I was never meant to control, and take hold of the hope, peace, and joy that only You provide. Let my surrender be rooted in trust, not fear.
