Our need for Jesus is so profound that the scope of all creation is saturated with an unavoidable reliance. A need for a sustainer. Our dependence on Jesus is always for deeper revelations. John 1:3 tells us, "All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made." Without Him, there is nothing. Jesus tells us in John 15:4, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me." Without Him, we can do nothing. Convicting and freeing!

Knowing our futility without the workmanship of God’s hand, that everything works together to glorify Him, our response is praise. It’s inevitable, a reflex! Simply saying, "Jesus, I need you" is praise!

John 15:7 continues: "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this, My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit..." Our needs, met by Him, glorify God the Father! How beautiful!

If you desire to rely only on Jesus, pray this with me: "Jesus, You are holy. Your ways are good. Show me where I’ve leaned on my own understanding. Where have I relied on something or someone other than You? Jesus, I’m ready to rely on only You."
