Kingdom Story Company Month of the Bible Reading Plan

DAY 3 OF 30

Greg Laurie didn’t find Jesus in an instant. His story in JESUS REVOLUTION shows the tension of someone pulled between two worlds. On one hand, he longed for something real; on the other, he was drawn into the chaos of the broken world around him. He wanted to belong, but nothing satisfied.

Everything began to change when Greg encountered Lonnie and the believers at Chuck Smith’s church. For the first time, he experienced a love that was authentic and a hope that didn’t fade when the party ended. Still, the turning point came when Greg chose to surrender—not partially, not with conditions, but fully. That decision became visible in his baptism at Pirate’s Cove, where he laid his old life to rest and rose into new life in Christ.

Personal surrender isn’t easy. Like Greg, we may wrestle with doubt, fear, or the desire to stay in control. But hope is found on the other side of surrender. God takes the pieces of our broken story and writes something brand new—something that can spark change in countless others.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  • What part of your life feels hardest to surrender to God right now?
  • How could letting go of control open the door to transformation?
  • Who might be watching your faith journey and finding hope in your example?
