Kingdom Story Company Month of the Bible Reading Plan

DAY 5 OF 30

There are times in life when everything seems stacked against us. No matter how hard we try, the obstacles feel overwhelming.

In AMERICAN UNDERDOG, Kurt and Brenda face moment after moment where giving up seems like the easiest choice. Financial struggles, rejection, and personal challenges weigh them down. But instead of quitting, they remind each other of the dreams God has placed in their hearts.

The Bible reminds us of this truth “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” - Galatians 6:9. Perseverance is not easy, but it is worth it. God often does His greatest work in us not when things are easy, but when we keep going despite the struggle.

Hope through perseverance means trusting that the harvest will come, even if the season of planting feels long and hard. Like Kurt and Brenda, we can hold tightly to God’s promises and to each other, believing that He will bring fruit from our faithfulness.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  • Where in your life right now do you feel tempted to give up?
  • Who in your life helps you hold onto God’s calling in your life and encourages your faith when it gets hard?
  • How can you encourage someone else to keep going?
