Authentic Faith in Action: From the Book of Jamesનમૂનો

Day 24: Boasting About Tomorrow
It’s so easy to map out our lives as if we hold the future in our hands. We make calendars, set deadlines, and dream about what’s next—but James reminds us how fragile life really is. Like a mist that fades in the morning sun, our time is brief and uncertain. The danger isn’t in planning, but in planning without God. When we leave Him out of our decisions, we subtly begin to trust in our own wisdom and strength. And when we ignore the good we know we ought to do today, we risk missing the very purpose God has for us right now. True wisdom is living with humility—acknowledging God’s sovereignty and remembering that every day is a gift.
Reflection: Am I so focused on my own plans that I forget my life is temporary? Do I live with urgency to do good while I still have today?
Application: Pause before making your plans. Pray, “If it is the Lord’s will, I will…” Write down one act of good you know you should do today—and follow through.
Prayer: Teach me, Heavenly Father, to hold my plans loosely and to trust Your will completely. Help me to seize today’s opportunities to do good, living with humility and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
