He Drew Near: A Christmas Journey of Hope and Presence

DAY 8 OF 12

The Gifts We Bring

The wise men traveled far — not just with expensive gifts but with hearts that recognized who Jesus was. Their offerings were meaningful: gold for a king, frankincense for a priest, myrrh for the sacrifice who would suffer and die. But perhaps the most valuable gift they gave was simply their worship.

Romans 12 reminds us that true worship isn’t just about songs for Sundays. It’s about offering our whole lives to God. Our words, our choices, our priorities — these, too, can be acts of worship when we give them with open hearts.

God doesn’t require extravagance. He delights in our willingness. What we bring doesn’t have to be perfect — it just needs to be real.

Reflection Question:

What’s one way you can offer your life to Jesus today — in worship, in surrender or in service?

Prayer:

Jesus, you are worthy of my best. Help me to live in a way that honors you, not just with words, but with my whole life. I give you my time, my heart and my hands today. Amen.

About this Plan

He Drew Near: A Christmas Journey of Hope and Presence

Christmas is the story of a God who comes close. In this 12-day devotional, we reflect on how Jesus stepped into our world with humility, hope and love — not as a distant king but as one who draws near to the lowly and the waiting. Each day offers Scripture, reflection and prayer to help us slow down and see how the birth of Christ speaks to our everyday lives. His coming isn’t just something to celebrate. It’s something to experience. May this journey lead you to wonder, worship and a deeper awareness of his nearness this season.
