“30 Pictures of Jesus” 30 Day Planનમૂનો

Today we see Jesus as the Light of the World.
Light is one of the first images the Bible gives us. In the beginning, the world was formless, void, and covered in darkness. But God spoke: “Let there be light.” And his word pierced the darkness, filling the world with life and order (Genesis 1:3). From that moment, light has been a picture of God’s presence and power to overcome chaos and death.
When God came down on Mount Sinai, his glory appeared like blazing fire (Exodus 24:17). In the wilderness, his presence was a pillar of fire lighting Israel’s way through the night (Exodus 13:21). When the tabernacle and later the temple were filled with his glory, it shone like radiant light (1 Kings 8:10–11). Light was how God’s people knew he was with them. And God told Israel their calling was to be a light to the nations (Isaiah 49:6)—a people who would carry God’s brightness into a dark world.
It was during the Feast of Tabernacles, when Jerusalem was lit with torch processions and giant lampstands in the temple courts, that Jesus stood and said: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). The people celebrated God’s light guiding them in the wilderness. Jesus claimed to be the fulfillment of that light—not just for Israel, but for the world.
This is good news. The one who said “Let there be light” has come to shine in our darkness. The presence of God that once filled temple and tabernacle now shines in Jesus. And the mission once given to Israel is completed in him: he is the light to the nations. Those who follow him never walk in darkness again, because his life lights the way.
One day, when all is made new, there will be no more night, no more sun or moon, because “the glory of God gives light, and the Lamb is its lamp” (Revelation 21:23). The light that first dawned in Genesis will never set.
