As for Me - Pre Youth Campનમૂનો

GUARD THE FIRE
How do we not only take ground but keep it for the kingdom?
Ps Mercedes Stiller | Highlands Church
Have you ever seen God do something amazing — in your life, your youth ministry, your family, or your friends — and you celebrated the breakthrough, only to feel like things slipped back to how they were before? Yeah, me too! It’s one of the enemy's most predictable strategies – to find a way to make you doubt what God has done and make you feel defeated. When the enemy sees the kingdom of God advancing, he will do anything he can to stop that progress and discourage you from being a part of God’s plan!
We need to learn how to be followers of Jesus, who not only take ground for the Kingdom, but also keep it.
Nehemiah was one who was taking ground for the Kingdom of God, by rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem. Despite opposition and ridicule from surrounding enemies, Nehemiah was taking ground, and he planned on keeping it.
Nehemiah led a team of warriors who were prepared to fight in order to take and keep the group they were pining after. One hand occupied building the wall, one hand resting on their sword holsters, ready to fight off enemies.
They had a call from God, and nothing was going to stop Nehemiah and his warriors from completing the mission; nothing was going to bring Nehemiah down from the wall. One hand on the weapon, one hand on the wall.
When you find yourself in a position like Nehemiah, with opposition all around you, you need to make a decision. You can either come down from the wall, or you can fight to keep the ground. One hand on the weapon, one hand on the wall! The outcome is not our responsibility; the obedience is. Like the Israelites in the book of Joshua, God blessed them, they took the ground that God blessed them with, and in their obedience, they kept it.
Application:
- Like Nehemiah, find your team of warriors. You don’t need to be on a wall by yourself; make sure you’ve got other warriors around you, building with you.
- Ask some leaders/mentors to be a prayer team for you. Have people in your life who will cover you in prayer.
