As for Me - Pre Youth Camp

DAY 4 OF 7

I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE EASY

Ps Charlotte Lees | Citipointe Church Brisbane

We read all throughout the book of Joshua that God is faithful and victorious. Most of this story is about the Israelites being led into the Promised Land; what could have been thought to be a quick win was a long battle. We will experience battles throughout our own lives as following Jesus can be more challenging than we first thought.

God fights with us and on our behalf. He has already won the battle, and we get to stand on the authority that we are victors as God is victorious.

Throughout chapters 10 and 11, Israel is led through a series of battles that required persistence to see what God had promised them. To bring this into light for us… look at how far God has brought you. From that first moment you made a decision for Jesus, and through every battle you have faced and come through since. Difficulty does not mean defeat. God sharpens our faith in the challenge and never leaves us or forsakes us. We have an opportunity to learn God’s faithfulness and rely on Him to be faithful.

The road to inheriting the promise wasn't short or easy for the Israelites, but their faith in God was refined as they learnt to depend on Him. Joshua 10:25 reminds us to not be afraid but to be strong and courageous. No matter what challenge or battle you may face today - God is faithful to bring you through. We have to wake up and choose Him every day, choose to stand firm on His promises, and to depend on Him.

Reflect today on how far God has brought you - the battles He has gone before you to fight and where you need to be reminded of how faithful He is to carry us through.

Every. Single. Time.
