When our strength runs out, God’s strength begins. When we come to the end of ourselves, we come to the beginning of His power.
Life has a way of reminding us just how human we are by limiting us physically, emotionally, and even spiritually. We all face moments when we feel exhausted, discouraged, inadequate, or all of the above. In these moments, we come face-to-face with weakness. We also come face-to-face with God’s mercy, power, and grace.
In 2 Corinthians, the Apostle Paul reminds us that weakness is not a failure to be fixed. It is rather a space to be filled by God's power. Isaiah echoes this hope: Even the strongest among us will grow tired, but those who hope in the Lord will be renewed (Isaiah 40:31, NIV). Strength isn’t self-generated — it’s God-given. And God doesn’t step in until we admit how weak we are without Him.
We don’t usually see weakness this way. We’re taught to avoid it, hide it, or push past it. But Scripture offers us a different lens. Those who wait on the Lord — those who lean into Him rather than themselves — find a strength that never runs dry.
This is the mystery and the miracle of God's grace: Your inner strength is a strength He provides.
You weren’t meant to carry the weight of life on your own. Inner strength isn't about gritting your teeth and pushing through pain; it's about trusting more deeply, leaning into God's grace, and allowing Him to carry what you cannot.
Take a moment to reflect on your struggles and how you have been trying to overcome them. Where in your life are you trying to hold everything together on your own? How might God’s strength help you today?
Let’s pray.
God, I confess that I often try to be strong on my own. I try to overcome challenges in my own strength, and I fall short of my own expectations. I ask You to forgive my pride. You are strong. I know Your strength is what I need to better serve You. Teach me to lean into Your grace and receive the strength You so freely give. Amen.
About this Plan

This plan is all about finding hope in the mess and leaning into God’s strength when you feel like you don’t have any left. If you’ve ever felt like your past disqualifies you or your struggles are too big to overcome, this is for you. You’re not alone. And with God, your hardest moments can actually become your strongest ones. Together, let’s learn, grow, and conquer by leaning on God.
