How to Find Peace in God

DAY 1 OF 3

Peace Is a Person

The peace of God is much closer than you think.

Think about those frustrating recipe articles where the content you want is buried under paragraphs of unrelated stories and pop-ups. God’s peace isn’t like that. It’s direct, accessible, and found in a person: Jesus.

Jesus, knowing His followers would face fear and uncertainty, offered them peace—and not just any peace, but His peace.

In John 14:27, Jesus is preparing His disciples for a hard road ahead. He knows fear will come. So He gives them a gift: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.”

Did you catch that? His peace. Not the world’s version, which is usually conditional and temporary. Jesus gives us the real thing—His own unshakable peace.

That means we don’t have to go searching for it in a perfect schedule, a distraction, or a self-help checklist. Peace isn’t found in finally crossing everything off your to-do list. It’s found in Jesus, who is already with you.

Today, take five minutes to pause and be still with Jesus. No music, no multitasking, no agenda. Just sit in His presence. Begin by taking a few deep breaths and slowly repeating this truth: “Jesus, You are my peace.”

Let that simple moment remind you that peace isn’t something you have to find. Instead, it’s Someone who’s already with you.

Reflect or Discuss

  • Where have you been looking for peace lately?
  • What does it mean that you already have God’s peace because you have Him?

Pray

God, You’re the Maker of everything good. Settle me, fulfill me, and refresh me with Your peace in my mind, body, and soul. I entrust all this and all of myself into Your good, strong, and wide-open arms. In Jesus’ name, amen.

We’d love to pray for you as you seek God’s peace. Share your prayer request here.
