Purpose in the Pause: Finding Hope in the Waitingનમૂનો

When it comes to purpose, we’re often told to start with “why.” It’s compelling advice—motivational, even. But what happens when the “why” seems clear, yet the results don’t follow? What happens when progress is painfully slow, or it feels like God isn’t cooperating with His own plan?
I’ve been there, too. I had my big “why” perfectly articulated, my goals lined up, and my heart all in. Yet, measurable results remained rare, and discouragement set in. It felt like I was running in circles, wondering if I’d misunderstood God’s direction entirely.
Then I started asking a deeper question: Where does God start?
With Abraham, we see an answer that can shift our perspective. God didn’t rush to fulfill His promise; He took time to transform Abraham into someone who could carry it. Abraham didn’t just need a son to fulfill the promise—he needed to become a man of unwavering trust and faith to steward the legacy God was building through him. That’s why God led him through seasons of waiting, tests of faith, and moments of surrender.
One of the most revealing moments came when God renamed Abram to Abraham. In Genesis 17:5, God declared, “Your name will no longer be Abram, but Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.” The name change wasn’t just symbolic—it was transformative. It reflected not only what God had promised but also who God was calling him to become.
In the same way, God often uses the waiting seasons to change us at our core. He’s shaping us into people who can walk by faith, hold onto hope, and live in deeper alignment with His purposes. The question is: Will we let Him?
Prayer
“Lord, thank You for being patient with me as You shape me into Your image. Help me trust Your timing and embrace the process of becoming who You’ve called me to be.”
Tomorrow, we’ll explore a simple exercise to help you hear from God about who He’s shaping you to be. It’s a practical way to find clarity, purpose, and hope in the waiting.
