Conquering the Unknown: Trusting God in Life’s Uncertainties

DAY 2 OF 7

A God Who Knows Our Unknowns

“I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.”

We don’t know what tomorrow holds, but God does. He stands outside of time, seeing the complete picture of our lives, the joys, the sorrows, the moments that lift us, and the ones that bring us to our knees. While uncertainty may shake us, it never shakes Him. The unknowns that overwhelm us are fully known to Him.

Peter’s story reminds us of this Truth. On the night of Jesus’ arrest, Peter was confident that his faith was unshakable. But Jesus saw what Peter could not. He knew Peter’s heart, impending failure, and the subsequent shame. And yet, He also saw beyond it, to Peter’s restoration, renewed strength, and future as a leader in the early Church. God doesn’t just know our weaknesses; He knows the redemption waiting on the other side.

I clung to that Truth during the final week of my son’s battle with Leukemia. It was a week of silence. We could feel God’s Presence, yet He spoke no words. I didn’t know how to pray. We pleaded for healing, but our son was slipping away, and we were left in stunned disbelief.

Then, at the moment my son was pronounced dead, God finally broke His silence. I felt His Presence wrap around me in an embrace so real it was almost tangible. And I heard His whisper: “I knew this was coming but did not know how to tell you.”

God has never abandoned us. He has never been unaware. He had seen what we could not, carrying its weight long before we reached that moment. His silence did not mean He was absent; it had been a deep, knowing grief, a sorrow He bore with us.

Take heart if you find yourself standing in the unknown, wondering why God seems silent. He is not indifferent to your pain. He sees the whole picture, even when all you see is uncertainty. And when the time is right, He will speak, not to explain, but to remind you that He has been with you all along.

Pause and Ponder:

  • How does knowing that God sees your future bring you peace?
  • What unknown are you struggling to surrender to God?

Prayer: Father, thank You for being a God who knows everything. Help me trust that You have already made a way through my uncertainties. Amen.
