Embracing the Unknown with Faith

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Life, like project management, is a dance with uncertainty. Some challenges are expected, milestones with risks we can mitigate, while others crash into our lives unannounced. But no matter how unpredictable the road ahead may seem, one truth remains unshaken: God is never caught off guard. When we trust Him, uncertainty loses its power over us.

Abraham knew this kind of trust. When God called him to leave behind everything familiar, his country, his people, and his father’s household, there was no roadmap, no five-year plan, no certainty beyond God’s Promise. Yet, he stepped forward into the unknown, one foot in front of the other. Abraham’s story reminds us that faith isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about knowing who is leading the way.

Our journey has echoed Abraham’s in many ways. We didn't have all the details when God called us to leave our home in Chennai, India, for Semarang, Indonesia. We obeyed. Six months later, our world was shaken; our second son passed away after a three-month battle with Leukemia. In the wake of loss, God didn’t abandon us; He carried us forward. From Semarang to Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and later to Hong Kong, each move was a step into the unknown, a lesson in trust.

And now, we wait. The next chapter remains unwritten, but we rest in the certainty of God’s Faithfulness. Just as He guided Abraham, He is guiding us. We don’t need to see the complete picture; we must take the next step.
