Life & Teachings of Jesus - Day 6

For centuries, Jewish leaders taught the people the law as God had given it to Moses. When Jesus came, he talked about God as a Father who loves his children and wants to care for them. The idea was so radical that Jesus had to teach in illustrations. When they still didn’t get it, he spoke plainly in Matthew 13:44–46. He said heaven is so great, it’s like selling everything to buy a single jewel or treasure.

Giving up everything you have for one thing is still a pretty wild idea. But eternity with Jesus is worth it. If you’re not convinced of God’s love for you, remember that he gave up his life to pay off your debt and bring you home to the Father.
