Marik - (dad) Papua New Guineau There are more than 3,000 native speakers of this language. They live in Papua New Guineau near the Gogol River in the Madang Province on the northern coast of the mainland. This area has many of the country’s highest peaks, active volcanoes, and its largest population mix. The mountains are rich in timber. The Bismarck Sea laps the northern coast, and is fed by large rivers. There are fertile coastal gardens, an abundance of fish, and fresh produce available year around. The writing system is the Latin script, and Bible portions have been available since 1989.
