I SurrenderNäide

When Believing Restores
No matter what we’re facing in life, reaching our lowest point can be a blessing when God restores our brokenness.
Spiritually, I was not in a good place. A question needed to be answered, and only I could answer it. Could I live my life as a woman truly believing in God? For me, there was only one way to find out.
Experiencing what felt like a spiritual death, I prayed like my life depended on it. I prayed and asked God to reveal Himself. I prayed that if I could just see Him, then I would believe that He was real. In my heart and soul, this would answer the question once and for all.
Scripture says, “And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” —Luke 22:44
Two nights after praying and earnestly asking God to reveal Himself, I had a dream of being elevated from my bed. I was lifted into the sky where I saw tens of thousands of beautiful, twinkling stars. I was like a small child and I remember my excitement like it was yesterday. Then suddenly, something turned me at an angle. And there He was, wearing a white robe, standing with His arms stretched out, allowing me to see Him, and all of His glory. Shortly after, something was returning me, but I begged if I could see Him again. Amazing is not a word that captures seeing Jesus standing in the same posture a second time, and I’m not sure if any word ever will.
When I opened my eyes, I could barely speak without crying. That morning, I was spiritually resurrected and made a decision to keep walking with God. Some time later, God elevated me in a brand-new business venture, experience that He’s allowed me to build for His plans for my life. Had it not been for hitting my bottom and being forced to look up, I would not be the woman I am today—redeemed and restored. How deep is the Father’s love for us? This is the God we serve.
It's time to reflect—Find a space to reflect or journal about reaching your lowest point. Even today, are you able to remain faithful when your plans are broken and shattered? If you have an opportunity to witness to someone who is struggling, what would you tell them?
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, every believer has to carry his or her own cross as they follow You, and I am no exception. Thank you for the trust I have in you. Thank you for giving me strength when I am at my lowest and when I am weak and tempted to lose faith. Should I fail, remind me of who I am in you. My life is to serve you, Lord, not by my will, but yours. You have all of me. My times are in your hands. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
+Final thoughts:
Reaching this lowest point in my life was just what I needed, and I’m so glad that everything happened the way it did. Sometimes we only find treasure in God when life forces us to say two simple words: I Surrender
