7 Keys for Spiritual WarfareNäide

7. SPIRITUAL WARRIORS RELY ON HOLY SPIRIT STRATEGIES AND GOD’S SUPERNATURAL POWER TO CLAIM VICTORY OVER THE ENEMY
David fought against the lion and the bear with his bare hands. But he fought Goliath with a slingshot and five smooth stones. The strategy of the Lord can change for different situations, so we must be listening to the Holy Spirit.
We read in scripture that God directed His people in many different battle strategies. The Lord told Joshua to march around the city of Jericho once a day for six days, and then on the seventh day to march around it seven times. The Israelite priests blew the trumpets, and with a mighty shout, the walls came down! God told Moses to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord when the Egyptian army was pursuing. The Red Sea parted for the children of Israel to safely cross, and then the waters poured back in and swallowed up the advancing army.
The Lord instructed Gideon to reduce the Israelite army’s numbers down to three hundred men. As Gideon’s men blew their trumpets and smashed the empty jars which they carried, God sent confusion into the Midianite camp so that the enemy turned on each other. Three very different strategies, all directed by God. We must keep in step with the Spirit and listen for God’s strategies for spiritual warfare.
As well as relying on Spirit-led strategies, we rely on God’s power. David trusted in the Lord to rescue him in the fight against Goliath. Although David would have been skilled at using his slingshot, there was something supernatural that took place as David partnered with God. The stone sank into Goliath's head – literally embedding into his forehead! Yet Goliath was wearing a bronze helmet, which should have protected him. This was God’s supernatural power! There is nothing on earth and nothing in the spirit realm that can stand against the power of God.
Church, we are the family of God, but we are also the army of God. Let’s be believers who see God’s kingdom assignments, partner with Him in Holy Spirit strategies, and see His kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
