Living Open-Handed: 30 Days of Generosity and ImpactNäide

Obedience Over Comfort
Sometimes God asks us to do things that feel uncomfortable or inconvenient.
The Bible tells the story of Jonah, a man who was told by God to go to a city and deliver a message. Jonah didn't want to go, so he ran in the opposite direction.
Obedience often means stepping into situations that are unfamiliar or that stretch us. It might mean talking to someone about your faith, forgiving someone who hurt you, or giving time or money when it would be easier not to.
Choosing obedience over comfort shows that we trust God’s plan more than our own preferences. In the end, Jonah still carried out God’s plan, but it would have been better if he had obeyed from the start.
Reflection Question: Where might God be asking you to choose obedience over comfort?
Call to Action: Say “yes” to something God has been prompting you to do.
Prayer: Lord, give me courage to obey, even when it’s uncomfortable. Amen.
