How to Set Goals With GodNäide

Day 5: Surrender to God’s Will
God directed Jeremiah to observe a potter at work, crafting vessels from clay. When the clay was marred (ie, disfigured or spoiled), the potter reshaped it into something else. God used this imagery to explain His sovereignty over nations, including Judah, warning that He could reshape their future based on their response to Him.
This demonstrated God’s authority to mold lives and destinies according to His purpose, calling people to trust and submit to His will.
The imagery of the potter shaping clay reminds us of God’s sovereignty. He can reshape our lives and plans according to His will.
This is why surrender is a necessary tactic in purposeful goal-setting. Surrender is a heart posture that transforms your ambition into God’s assignment.
Ask yourself: “Do my goals honor Him?”
Also, ask yourself: “Are the desires of my heart surrendered to God?”
When your heart is aligned with God’s, He will shape your desires and guide your steps. Trust the Potter to mold you into His masterpiece of excellence. Surrendering to God means allowing Him to mold us, even when it means letting go of our own desires.
Prayer Prompt: Father, I surrender my plans to You. Shape my life according to Your purpose.
Focal Point: Trust God to shape your journey and submit your plans to His will.
Main Objective: Acknowledge that God’s plan may differ from your own, but it is always better.
Action Step: Regularly review your goals, surrendering them to God in prayer. Be willing to let Him redirect your path.
