GENESIS 41
The challenges Joseph faced paved the way that led him to Pharaoh. And his faithfulness to God caused the Lord’s presence to be recognized in him throughout this journey. With Joseph, we learn that honoring God is a decision that doesn’t depend on favorable circumstances — in fact, it’s when everything is hard that we are truly faced with that choice. Because of that, Joseph’s stand led him to be raised as governor.
Just like Joseph, Jesus was also forgotten by His friends when He asked them to watch with Him — and they fell asleep. But in that same passage, at Gethsemane, Jesus chose to honor God the Father and remain faithful. In anguish, He submitted to the Lord’s will (Matthew 26:36–46). Jesus understood that He was on Earth for a powerful purpose: to redeem us all! And His faithfulness exalted Him above all nations.
LET'S PRAY:
Read Psalm 23 — our Good Shepherd wants to lead us to still waters! He prepares a feast for us in front of our enemies! Reflect on how you can experience this truth every day. The Good Shepherd became the Lamb to teach us to be His flock. He is preparing a time for us to be nourished by the feast and to enjoy ourselves in these still waters. Ask the Good Shepherd to teach you to be His sheep during our days together!
