Day 19: God Will Turn Your “Let Down” into a “Setup”

Affirmation
God will turn my let down into a setup for Christ.

Devotion
In life, there will be times when we face disappointments. Illness, the loss of a job, the death of a loved one, broken dreams, or failed relationships can all leave us feeling let down. Yet even in those moments, God has a way of turning disappointments into divine setups for His greater purpose.

The life of Ruth is a powerful example of how to respond to loss and hardship. After the death of her husband, Ruth was left with only Naomi, her mother-in-law. Naomi urged her to return to her old life, but Ruth chose obedience and faith. She boldly declared that Naomi’s God would be her God (Ruth 1:16). Her decision to move forward in faith positioned her for God’s blessing.

Ruth did not let her grief paralyze her. Instead, she pressed on. In Ruth 2:3, we see her faithfully working in the fields, and it was there that she “happened” to meet Boaz. That divine appointment led to her breakthrough. Imagine if she had given up in disappointment—she would have missed the blessing God had in store.

When we obey God, victory will follow. Ruth’s story didn’t just end with personal restoration—she became part of the lineage of Jesus Christ. What seemed like a let down was, in fact, God’s setup for something greater.

Prayer
Abba Father,

While I may not fully understand what is happening in my life, I trust that You are turning it around for my good. I ask that You give me the steps to obey You so that my story too can end in victory. Let what seems like a let down—[name it]—become a divine setup in Christ. Thank You for illuminating my path and guiding me in the steps I should take. It is in Jesus Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
