Coming to Life: 30-Day DevotionalNäide

The Kingdom of God Is at Hand
Jesus began His ministry with a clear proclamation: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand.” Centuries of longing were coming true. God’s reign was breaking into history.
The kingdom is not a distant hope but a present reality. Jesus taught that it was already “in the midst of you,” breaking in through His words, His miracles, and His presence. Everywhere He went, lives were restored, sins forgiven, and the broken healed.
Yet the kingdom is not merely external. Paul reminds us that it is about righteousness, peace, and joy in the Spirit. It is an inward transformation as much as an outward reign.
And still, the kingdom is not yet complete. Revelation promises the day when the kingdom of this world will fully become the kingdom of Christ. We live in the tension of the already and the not yet — the kingdom has come, and yet we await its fullness.
This dual reality shapes how we live. We pray, “Your kingdom come,” longing for its completion. But we also live as kingdom people now — embodying its values of justice, mercy, forgiveness, and peace.
The kingdom is both a promise for the future and a calling for today. It is not about escaping the world but about seeing God’s reign transform the world through us.
