Beyond the Battlefield

DAY 7 OF 15

David praised God for His all-knowing, ever-present, all-powerful nature. It was an intimate and heartfelt prayer in which David thanked God for creating him. And he did this using beautiful imagery that described God as a master artisan. Like a potter skillfully shaping his masterpiece, God formed us. Like a weaver intricately knitting His design, God wove us together. But David didn’t just stop at the fact that God created us; he went on to describe how He created us: “fearfully and wonderfully.” Here, the word fearfully doesn’t mean scared—it implies awe and astonishment, like watching a breathtaking sunrise. And wonderfully emphasizes that we are uniquely crafted, set apart for God’s purpose.

Let that sink in: God Himself carefully designed you in His image. You weren’t mass-produced like items in a factory; you are one of a kind. And because He made you, He knows you intimately (Psalm 139:1). Before you were even born, He knew your gifts, your personality, and all your days ahead. Even on days when we don’t feel it, we are deeply loved and known by God. We can come to Him with all our messy thoughts and feelings, knowing He fully understands.

About this Plan

Beyond the Battlefield

In a world where conflict is constant, comes the need to look at what it truly means to navigate the crossfire. This isn’t about grand battles—this is about the daily interactions with family, friends, and even strangers. Spend enough time with anyone, and you’ll run into conflict. In this devotional, we’ll learn what it looks like to respond well and control what’s within our means to maintain so we don’t lose ourselves and the relationship in the process.
