DAY 24 OF 30

Day 24: Rescue Stories

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." Luke 19:10 (NIV)

The word "saved" means rescued from destruction. You have a rescue story, and rescue stories exist to be told. Your testimony is not about how admirable you were before Christ, nor about how perfect you became after Him. It is about the grace that found you in your moment of greatest need.

Every conversion has the same essential storyline: "I was lost, but now I am found." The details vary, but the grace is the same. Some are rescued from visible and dramatic sins, others from respectable self-righteousness. Both equally need the same Savior, and both receive the same grace.

By sharing your story, you are not drawing attention to yourself, but to the One who saved you. You're not boasting about your change, but extolling God's transforming power.

Ask Him this month for an opportunity to tell someone how His grace has crossed your path. Don't worry about having a "convincing" testimony. Grace is convincing in itself because it is always undeserved.

"And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 1 Corinthians 11:24 (NIV)

The Lord's Supper is also a sacred moment to remember and proclaim this testimony of salvation. The Greek wordanamnēsis, translated as "remembrance," goes beyond remembrance: it means making present the reality of what Christ has accomplished. When you partake of the bread and cup representing the Body and Blood of the Lamb, you participate in the living truth of your salvation.

Approach the table not as someone who has earned merit, but as someone hungry for grace. The bread speaks of Christ's broken body for your restoration. The cup speaks of the Blood shed for your purification. These are not just distant symbols, but present realities in which you participate now. Discerning the Body of Christ begins with the understanding and recognition that it was not anything you did that made you part of it, but solely the grace of God.

Both sharing your testimony and participating in communion at the Lord's table are acts of trust in what Jesus did for you. This is worthy of being told and celebrated. And each time these two things are practiced, Satan is put to shame, because God is in control of your story.

The table is not set for the worthy, but for the needy; not for the self-righteous, but for sinners saved by grace. Celebrate and tell your story of grace.

My Prayer:

Father, thank you that my life is a story of Your grace. Give me courage and opportunity to share it, not to highlight my transformation, but Your transforming power. As I sit at Your table, remind me that I come not with my own worthiness, but with Christ's. Fill me with gratitude for the bread and the cup that speak of my complete salvation. Use my story and my participation in communion to glorify You alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Questions to Reflect:

1. How can you share your story of redemption in a way that exalts God's grace rather than His goodness?

2. What does it mean for you to approach communion as someone who hungers for grace rather than claiming self-worth?

About this Plan

God Is in Control

What does it mean to trust God with all your heart? This coming month, you are invited to live this unshakable truth: God is in control and worthy of your complete trust. From creation to the cross, from daily needs to life's trials, you will learn to rest in His sovereignty, trust in His grace, and walk in His provision. Each day will call you to exchange fear for faith, self-reliance for surrender, and doubt for trust in God's character.
