“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23 ESV)

In this chapter, the writer's argument reaches its climax. Folks, listen to me one more time. Let’s hold onto the confession of hope! Everything that has been said so far, and everything that will be said, is connected to this. You became a Christian thanks to God's grace, so don't lose heart or give up. Stick to your confession!

The writer reaches this conclusion by once again emphasising the shortcomings of the old covenant. The law did not deliver justice. Burnt offerings and other sacrifices did not actually bring about reconciliation. No, it's all about Jesus. He said: 'I give my life as a sacrifice.' This sacrifice is sufficient to atone for all sins. This sacrifice provides firm hope of heavenly glory. This is a permanent possession, a property which already exists in heaven. Approach this priest with boldness. Let nothing hold you back. Go to him with assured faith and a true heart.

So stick to it! Don't make excuses to avoid the local fellowship of believers. Don't give up on your confession. This is not an option. Once again, the author sharpens his double-edged sword. Don't trample on Jesus by ignoring His blood. Do not defame the Holy Spirit. For the Lord will judge. There is a great danger of falling into the hands of the avenging God without being reconciled.

But the righteous will live by faith. Faith leads to the salvation of the soul. The more you seek Jesus and get to know Him, the more your faith will grow.
