Faith @ WorkNäide

Stressful workdays. Days when the boss drops three piles of work onto your desk just as you are ready to go home, and he demands that it be ready for the next morning. Days when your computer dies and you have fifteen minutes left to finish your presentation. Days when the best you can do is shake your head in wonder at the way your managers, customers, or coworkers are behaving. Days when it feels like you, or everybody in your company, got out of the wrong side of bed. Days filled with stress when everything around you cries out in denial of God.
Jesus in his righteousness will meet you in your stress today. He has taken the broken places where you work and the broken pieces of your life and is raising them to new life, giving them new meaning and giving you purpose. In Christ this is not a psychological possibility but a present reality. Because of Jesus’ infinite grace, righteousness, and redemptive power of forgiveness, you are growing into a mature, compassionate, and wise leader. Praise the Lord!
Jesus delights in your continued faithfulness in your workplace. He weeps over your struggle to cope with yet another tough, stressful workday. Jesus continues to strengthen you so that you don’t grow weary as you faithfully, prayerfully, even tearfully prepare to go back to work again tomorrow and the next day, and the day after that.
Jesus sees your faithfulness, your deeds, your hard work, and your perseverance. He sees your continual demonstration of his love in your workplace. Jesus knows that you have remained true to his holy name and not walked away from your faith. The One who is holy and true knows that though you are weak, you faithfully depend on his strength. Continue to buy from God gold refined in the fire so that you build up treasures in heaven.
Allow Christ to keep cleansing you from all unrighteousness so that you may wear clothes washed whiter than snow. Allow Jesus to touch your eyes so that you might see him. Continue to be faithful, and one day Christ will crown you with the victor’s crown and grant you the right to eat from the Tree of Life, which is in the paradise of God. The day is coming when you will reign with him in glory forever.
Prayer
Almighty God, I praise you that you reward me for my faithfulness and not my feelings. I am weak and I need your strength today so that my life may bring glory and honor to your name. Amen.
