Faith @ WorkNäide

When you look back over your career, when you consider all the things you have accomplished, when you remember all your possessions (even if they are few), may your heart be filled with humble praise and adoration to the Lord for his goodness to you.
All these things are blessings from the hand of the Lord. Your very existence is a blessing from God. The skills and talents you used throughout your career to achieve your accomplishments are gifts from God. The managers, teachers, and colleagues who helped you along the way are blessings from him. It is only through the grace of God and his sustaining presence in your life and this universe that you are able to read this devotional.
It’s true that many people believe they have gotten where they are in their careers because of a combination of luck, hard work, and self-sufficiency. They believe that they are the masters of their own universes. They came and they conquered. They think that they are without peer, that they are self-sufficient. They worship themselves and expect others to worship them as well. In their arrogance, they live blindfolded in a world of illusion, cut off from the life of God through ignorance and insensitivity. Out of his infinite mercy and grace, God invites them to repent and acknowledge that all their blessings come from Him.
Don’t let yourself be distracted by these people. Instead, keep your eyes focused on your loving heavenly Father! Remember that God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble.
Give thanks to God from a grateful heart for all he has done for you.
Prayer
Gracious Father, I am humbled that you are mindful of me, a mere creature of dust. Forgive me for my pride. Help me never to forget the source of my blessings. Amen.
