NearnessNäide

Have you ever tried tackling something you’re completely unskilled at? I just installed a door handle—well, one and a half. The first handle broke, not because it was faulty, but because the installer (me) had no clue. The second handle was installed fully and the attempt looks decent, if you ask me!
Trying new things is part of being human. Without trying, we don’t grow. Without wisdom, we stay stuck.
Today’s passages celebrate wisdom: it builds understanding, guides us through challenges, and lays a strong foundation for life.
But in Jesus, we find the ultimate foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11) and the very wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24, 30). He intercedes for us. So when you’re unskilled in life—or door handles—call a wise friend, but more importantly, lean on Jesus. Ask to hear His voice when you feel lost or inadequate. He offers the counsel we need most.
Today, ponder this: How often, when faced with a trivial problem, do we invite God into the moment with us? What does it look like to ask Him what He might be teaching you when you are lacking wisdom?
