Love: The Greatest of AllNäide

Love: The Greatest of All

DAY 7 OF 10

Love Bears All Things

“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
-1 Corinthians 13:7 NLT

Love is one of the most challenging acts that you can demonstrate. It often goes against all natural reasoning, comprehension, and understanding. This is the way God loves us. If we were honest with ourselves about some of the things that we did, we would have given up on ourselves a long time ago. God doesn’t give up on us because love doesn’t give up. It sticks through the tough times.

In many relationships, we tend to give up the first time we get offended. If you do this all the time you will not have any relationships, because everybody makes mistakes. Some of the relationships that are the closest are the ones where you have to bear the most.

You’ve Been Hurt, but You Have Hurt Others Too

I think all of us have heard the statement, “I shouldn’t have to deal with this.” You have either heard it, said it, or both. Anytime that we have been wronged, you are absolutely correct: You should not be. But let’s not forget that we have wronged others too.

Just because someone wrongs you doesn’t mean you have a pass on walking in love toward them. What would have happened if someone stopped talking to you whenever you offended someone? Nobody would be talking to you because, at some point, we have all offended someone. Love remembers that others have put up with our mistakes, and we need to extend grace to other people.

Confession Today

“Today, I will walk in love. I will bear whatever situation may come my way. I will walk in the God kind of love that extends grace whenever I have been hurt. This doesn’t mean that I am weak. I will make adjustments when necessary, but I will always walk in love with other people.”

About this Plan

Love: The Greatest of All

At the end of 1 Corinthians 13, Paul ends the chapter by saying that faith, hope, and love are all important, but LOVE takes the cake! God wants love to be our calling card. Love is the difference-maker. God is pleased with my faith, but people are moved by love. Over the next few days, let’s see what LOVE looks like and how we should treat people.
