What is Spiritual Formation?

What does it mean to build your life on a solid foundation this year?

As we step into 2025, we are invited to explore spiritual formation—a journey of becoming more like Jesus. Spiritual formation is the lifelong process where Christ is formed in us, shaping every part of who we are (Galatians 4:19). It’s not a quick fix or a to-do list but a rhythm of life that brings us closer to God.

Psalm 42:7 reminds us, “Deep calls to deep.” Our human needs are great, but God’s wisdom, love, and presence are infinitely greater. When we press into Him, we discover a solid foundation for every season of life (Isaiah 33:5-6). Just as a house must be built on a firm base to stand strong, so must our lives be rooted in Christ.

In Philippians 3:12-14, Paul encourages us to forget what lies behind us and press forward toward our heavenly goal. This year, we are called to take intentional steps toward God, allowing Him to transform us. Through spiritual formation, we can experience growth, healing, and a deeper relationship with our Creator.
