A Year in Luke/ActsNäide

After seeing the wondrous works that God was doing through Paul and Barnabas the crowds decided that the men were "gods in human form," (v11) and prepared to offer sacrifices to them. They mistook God's vessels of blessing for gods themselves. The people's actions can seem silly to us, but how many times do we do this same thing in our own life? How many times do we worship God's gifts to us instead of God himself? Probably more than we'd like to admit.
Lord, we pray that we would stop worshiping our own "gods in human form." That we would raise no idol above you, our only God. Amen.
