Developing Christian VirtuesNäide

Virtue (Aretê)
Virtue, or "aretê" in Greek, refers to excellent moral conduct, a life lived with integrity in thoughts, feelings, and actions. Peter encourages us to add virtue to our faith, for without a solid moral foundation, our faith can become empty and ineffective. Living a virtuous life means making decisions that honor God and reflect the character of Christ. Virtue is the first step in the journey to developing other Christian qualities. It illuminates the dark areas of our souls and helps us identify behaviors that need adjustment. As we strive to add virtue to our faith, we are called to live in a manner worthy of the Gospel, always seeking to do good and live according to God's standards.
Reflection Question: What areas of my life need more virtue, and how can I work to improve them?
