The Kid: An Advent Devotional for Middle SchoolersNäide

When it comes to the Christmas story, you may be surprised to know who first heard the news of the Kid’s arrival. It wasn’t the religious leaders, the nation's rulers, or the people with the most influence. No, it was a group of shepherds in Bethlehem. Back then, they weren’t the most valued, seen, or cared about group of people. In the world’s eyes, they didn’t have much going for them, but in God’s eyes, that didn’t matter. Jesus came to the world to save them. Not just them!
Jesus came to save everyone. No matter how the rest of the world sees you—no matter how forgotten, unseen, or undervalued you feel at times—remember that Jesus’ arrival was for you. That alone means you have worth and value in God’s eyes, and that’s pretty amazing!
Today, spend time in prayer, asking God to remind you of the value and worth you have because of Jesus. Pray that you’d remember this Christmas and beyond that the arrival of the Kid was for everyone, including you!
