The Kid: An Advent Devotional for Middle SchoolersNäide

Imagine being Mary, the mother of Jesus, when she learned she'd bring the Savior into the world. She was a young girl, not much older than a middle schooler, engaged to be married. A pregnancy wasn’t in her plans, especially one that would bring the Son of God into the world. Despite the pressure, Mary chose to trust God. She didn’t have all the answers, but she trusted His plan. We can do the same today!
When facing overwhelming situations, like trying out for a team, making a new friend, or sharing our faith, we can choose to trust God. Trusting God doesn’t mean we won’t feel afraid, but it means believing God is bigger than our fears.
Today, go to God with some of the fears you’re facing in life. Pray that God will not only help you face your fears but also remind you to trust God as you do.
